What Happens During a Contact Lens Exam & Fitting?

During your contact lens exam, we’ll check your prescription and eye health. We measure your cornea (the clear outer layer at the front of your eye) and assess your tear film quality.

You’ll receive trial lenses, and we’ll guide you through proper lens insertion, cleaning, and removal. During your fitting appointment, we’ll determine if your contacts are suitable for your eyes and support your vision needs.

Types of Contact Lenses

We offer a variety of lenses to suit different vision needs:

Multifocal lenses are designed for patients with presbyopia (the inability to focus on up-close objects). These contacts are ideal for those who don’t want to switch between multiple pairs of glasses.
Toric contact lenses are designed for patients with astigmatism, providing stable and clear vision by aligning with the shape of the cornea.
Rigid gas permeable (RGP) lenses are ideal for patients with higher prescriptions or irregular corneas. These lenses allow more oxygen to reach the eye, reducing dryness and discomfort while providing long-term eye health benefits.

Caring for Your Contact Lenses

Proper contact lens care helps prevent infections. Below are steps to help you keep your eyes healthy:

Replace your contact lenses according to your replacement schedule
Always wash your hands before handling your contact lenses
Use fresh solution (not water) to clean and store your contacts
Don’t sleep in your lenses
Avoid water exposure while wearing your contacts, including swimming and showering
Replace your lens case every 3 months
Don’t share your contacts
